Summary: Correspondence associated with the Cananea Consolidated Copper Mining Company of Cananea, Sonora, Mexico, including incoming and some outgoing correspondence from several of the company leaders including David Cole, James H. Kirk, Dr. L. D. Ricketts, and W. D. Thornton. Much of the letters concern equipment orders to suppliers and general mining operations. Some personal correspondence is present to and from David Cole. Oversized drawings show various mining equipment utilized or developed for the mines.

Incorporated by Col. William C. Greene, an Arizona rancher, in 1899 to develop mineral claims at Cananea in northern Sonora, Mexico. The company established the town of Cananea and various supporting enterprises including a company store, hospital, school, utilities, and railroad. Thomas F. Cole and John D.
